- 1Start from the built-in character, wipe it to a blank body, or open a PNG you already have.
- 2Pick a body part and a layer, choose a color, and draw on the unfolded texture.
- 3Rotate the 3D preview to check your work, or switch it to brush mode and paint on the model itself.
- 4Type a file name and press Download to save the 64x64 PNG, then upload it in the Minecraft launcher.
Frequently asked questions
- What file format do Minecraft skins use?
- A skin is a 64x64 PNG with transparency. This editor always exports that format, so the file works in current versions of Minecraft: Java Edition. Older 64x32 skins can be opened too and are converted to the modern layout.
- What is the difference between the Classic and Slim models?
- Classic (Steve) arms are 4 pixels wide, Slim (Alex) arms are 3. Switch the model in the toolbar and the editor reflows both the arm texture and the 3D preview. When you open an existing skin, the model is detected automatically.
- How do I use my skin in Minecraft?
- Download the PNG, then upload it in the Minecraft Launcher under Skins, or from your Microsoft account profile page. Bedrock players import the file in the Dressing Room.
- Are my skins uploaded anywhere?
- No. The editor runs entirely in your browser, so the images you open and the files you save never leave your device.
